Completely agree Stephen!

After 10 years of working with many of the so-called goorooze out there... I have seen mucho BS spread about. Sad state of affairs... but true.

Being real, raw real, is a good thing.

It may be tough to do, but it is worth it in my eyes.

Thanks for sharing. Troy

"Being a real person rather than some knob who pretends to be perfect is the ULTIMATE relationship builder."

You said it perfectly, Troy. Sharing the challenges that we face in our own garden has brought the most traffic and contact from our customers. People love to see that we're NOT perfect and that we don't have it all figured out. Content is king, but only when it is real content.

Good point Frank. Some of my BEST writing comes from pen on paper, not fingers on keys. Even my mentor, the wonderful Ted Nicholas (the $7 billion dollar man!) says his best writing is with pen to paper. Thanks for sharing. Troy

Absolutely right, about the writing by hand,Troy, (and the other points).

You mjght be able type faster (maybe not, b/c U can use YR own code 4 writ'g) but creatively, hand writing is better. You also get a built- in edit as you transfer the hand-written version to the computer.

Hey Kevin. Great to hear from you.

I agree about the pitchmen thing. He reminds me of those trade show pitchmen...the good ones sell a boat load of vacuums, shammy cloths, you name it they can sell it. I used to do quite a few trade shows when in the sauna business and was always amazed at those who were experts pitching from the booths.

As with the infomercial guys -- the good ones can sell near anything.

I caught that mention of Tony Robbins as well, the guy is a great sales guy and I bet he sells a whole bunch of bottles over the over-priced cleaners. I'd buy from him! I love a good sales pitch and he is awesome at it! Thanks for sharing. Troy

Troy,
This is great...thanks for posting! The thing that struck me most (after the humour) was the demonstration of the product (in effect giving a sample). I was reminded of the classic boardwalk "pitchmen" and their modern day equivalents, infomercial presenters (great video called "Gadgetmania" on this subject...well worth checking out).
Interesting aside...the mention of Tony Robbins and his influence.
Thanks again!

Hi John. Great to hear from you.

I also just heard this morning from a guy who set up a treadmill desk so you are constantly moving while working.

LOVE IT.

Must.
Get.
Me.
One.

This is a great subject that I rarely see discussed - thanks for sharing your insights and experience John.
